We begin with a conversation and, when appropriate, a site visit to review the estate. We'll discuss the assets involved, your timeline, and any circumstances that need to be considered before recommending the best approach for the auction.
2. Auction Planning
Every estate is different. We'll establish an auction timeline, determine the appropriate auction format, and develop a plan for cataloguing, advertising, bidding, payment, and pickup.
3. Cataloguing & Photography
Our team photographs, describes, and catalogs the items being offered. From vehicles and equipment to tools, collectibles, household items, and unique pieces, we work to present each asset clearly and professionally to potential buyers.
4. Marketing the Estate
We promote the auction through our bidder network, website, social media, online advertising, and targeted marketing based on the types of assets being offered.
Our goal is to create strong exposure and competitive bidding while allowing the market to determine the value of the estate's assets.
5. Auction Time
Once bidding opens, Big Meadow manages the auction process. Our online auction platform allows buyers to participate from across Alberta and beyond, increasing the potential audience for the estate's assets.
6. Payment & Pickup
Following the auction, we handle invoicing and collect payment from successful bidders. We also coordinate an organized pickup process to help ensure sold items are removed efficiently and with respect for the property.
7. Estate Settlement
After the auction has been completed and payments processed, we provide the estate representative with a detailed settlement outlining the results of the auction and issue the proceeds in accordance with the auction agreement.
